Dr. Kolia taught at the University of Durban Westville in South Africa and at the University of Houston College of Optometry in the US as a Clinical Supervisor for 3rd and 4th year Optometry students. Her extensive experience from working in hospitals in South Africa, starting up school day clinic to include eyecare, academic and private practice, gives her a unique global perspective to her profession.

Dr. Kolia enjoys private practice. What she enjoys most is challenging patients, high prescription contact lenses for adults and kids, state of the art eyecare combined with personalized care for the patients. Dr. Kolia constantly keeps up to date with the latest technology and fashion to provide her patients with all the best options available in eyecare and eyewear.

Dr. Kolia has joined Optometry Giving Sight which is the only global fundraising initiative to specifically help those who are Blind simply because they cannot access basic eyecare. Her office is participating with a monthly donation and trying to raise awareness locally by educating and informing the public of this incredible opportunity to show that together..we CAN make a difference.Dr. Kolia just returned from a visit to Durban, South Africa where she got to see first hand how funds raised by Optometry Giving Sight were being used. “I attended a local school where children were examined by ICEE and saw what a great impact this contribution will have on the lives of the children. There is such a need for refraction work and knowing I have somehow contributed by participating in Optometry Giving Sight’s World Sight Day Challenge, it is a full circle in my life and is very rewarding.”
